Ten years after the pre-school reform
The study presented in this report is the second national evaluation of the Swedish pre-school after the reform of 1998 when the pre-school received its own curriculum and became the first step for children into the overall educationsystem.
Sammanfattning 2: The evaluation takes a wide-ranging approach and builds on two different sub-studies: a survey to management personnel in all the country.s municipalities/municipal areas and case studies based on a sample of municipalities and pre-schools. As a complement to this, resultsfrom other studies that the Swedish National Agency for Education have carried out during the years 20042008 are used, including statistics, in-depth analyses within certain areas and inspection reports. In the report the development of the Swedish pre-school is also related tointernational research.
