Sammanfattning 2: The Swedish National Agency for Education has initiated this systematic review with the aim of expanding the breadth and depth of knowledge about what factors might have an impact on educational attainment in Swedish compulsory schools. The report contains a summary of research in four broad areas; societal factors, reforms, resources, and the inner workings of schools. In addition, an in-depth review of developments in attainment levels in Swedish compulsory schools, based on various outcome measures, is presented.
