Summary of Attitudes to school 2000
This summary shows the results of the National Agency for Education's survey of attitudes towards the Swedish school system in the year 2000. Students, parents of schoolchildren, teachers and the general public took part in the study.
Sammanfattning 2: The summary shows the results of the National Agency for Education's third attitude survey of the Swedish compulsory school and upper secondary school. The survey was carried out in the year 2000 and encompasses a nationwide cross section of students, parents of schoolchildren, teachers and the general public. In the summary we have captured attitudes towards school from various perspectives including democracy, school governance and success in meeting objectives, life-long learning, the social environment at school and school as an integrated part of society. In the survey the various groups' opinions and how they have changed since the first study in 1993-4 are presented. For the first time we have also compared results with those from other countries in the Nordic region as far as the general public and parents of schoolchildren are concerned.
