PIRLS 2026: Parent/Guardian questionnaire
Your child's class has been selected to participate in the international study PIRLS (Progress in International Reading Literacy Study). The study assesses children’s reading achievement in grade 4. The Parent/Guardian Questionnaire is an important supplement to your child's responses in PIRLS. Here you find important information and link to the questionnaire.
About the international study PIRLS
This spring, the reading assessment and questionnaire will be evaluated in a field study, and in the spring of 2026, the main study will be carried out. Your child's class will participate in the field study in the spring of 2025.
About the Parent/Guardian Questionnaire
The Parent/Guardian Questionnaire is an important supplement to your child's responses in PIRLS. We therefore kindly ask that you to complete it. The questionnaire provides valuable insights into your child's early reading development, your shared reading activities, and your experiences with different aspects of your child's schooling.
The information we collect will be highly valuable in understanding how children learn to read and will help improve reading instruction for all children. We encourage you to answer as many questions as you can. There are no right or wrong answers. You may skip any questions that you do not wish to answer to or feel unable to respond to.
The questionnaire takes about 30 minutes to complete. We appreciate your time and effort and thank you for your contribution.
